The benefits of nitrogen filling

Oxygen in the air contains some water (H2O) which may deposit in the motor as a condensate. At temperature differences there may also be a varying pressure in the engine. Water in the air can cause corrosion, something that can affect the electric drive and sensors (and thus prevents the operation). Nitrogen (N) is free from water, it’s odorless and colorless and thus by definition better as a filling.

The engine is equipped with a seal through wich the drive shaft comes out. Along here oxygen can easily escape, and at the place where oxygen exits water can enter, which is to be avoided at all times. For this reason, the Overdrive motors are filled with nitrogen, not with oxygen.

Just as in car tires, which are filled with nitrogen for much longer, the engines with oxygen empty. Because some oxygen / water will precipitate as condensation, the pressure may fluctuate. Nitrogen will escape much slower and therefore protects the engine better internally.
